Dr Jonathan (Jon) Mott, Chief Learning Officer

Dr Jonathan Mott - Learning Objects

As Chief Learning Officer at Learning Objects – a Cengage Company, Dr. Mott is focused on helping institutions implement outcome-aligned education using standards-based platforms, tools and courseware to support student achievement.

Dr. Mott has a diverse background in higher education, corporate development, and learning technology. Prior to Learning Objects, Jon worked at Brigham Young University in a variety of roles, including Director of the Center for Instructional Design and Assistant to the Academic VP, a role in which he coordinated academic technology issues campus-wide. Jon has taught extensively in BYU’s Instructional Psychology & Technology, Public Policy and Political Science departments.

His research interests are in the design of the learning infrastructure, personalised and adaptive learning, and learning analytics.

Dr. Deborah Everhart, VP Design and Innovation

Dr Deborah Everhart - Learning ObjectsAs VP of Design & Innovation Learning Objects – a Cengage Company, Deborah Everhart is focused on product strategy and design.

Dr. Everhart’s experience in education and technology sectors includes serving as Associate Vice President at Blackboard, Strategic Advisor for the American Council on Education, and numerous positions at Georgetown University. Deborah is currently a contributing member of the IMS Global working groups defining standards for competency-based education, extended transcripts, and digital credentials. She chaired the Badge Alliance working group that defined a conceptual framework and technical standards for badge endorsements.

Deborah writes and presents extensively on emerging technologies, portfolios, learning engagement, badges and other digital credentials, competency-based learning, and the future of learning and teaching.
